The Oakland Food Policy Council is a 21-seat council that studies the Oakland food system and makes recommendations to the City of Oakland on ways to make the system more equitable and sustainable.

Our food policy work is about changing the "rules of the game" so that our food system will deliver healthy food, a healthy environment, a healthy economy, and healthy choices for ALL residents of Oakland. We are working to ensue that access to healthy, affordable food is a right and a reality for every Oakland resident.
