Work Group Resources

Work groups are made up of OFPC members, interns, and members. Each member plays a valuable role from setting the agenda to taking minutes and conducting and reporting research back to the group. Read below for a description of positions and refer to the How-To Guides and Templates to find appropriate member documents.

Work Group Chairs: Each work group has one or two chairs who facilitate the work group meetings. The chairs make up the Executive Committee, a committee which meets regularly before each work group meeting to discuss agendas. Each chair receives a packet of materials to help facilitate and organize the meetings.

Work Group Interns: Interns attend work group meetings as a member of the public and take minutes during the meeting. They may also help with internal work group projects and OFPC projects. Work groups are always looking for interns. Email oaklandfood [at] foodfirst [dot] org to become a work group intern.

Work Group Members: Members are a valuable part of each work group. Comprised of both OFPC members and members of the public, they represent the community and their own organizations and institutions, building ties and connections between the OFPC and the greater community. Members may also serve as OFPC researchers.
