Late August, 2011                   Understanding the Farm Bill
OFPC, HOPE Collaborative, California Food and Justice Coalition and People’s Grocery facilitated an open dialogue for local residents surrounding the Farm Bill and what it means for urban residents. The workshop included a presentation on the history of the Farm Bill and what to expect in the 2012 Bill.

April 13, 5-7pm                 Training: Advocating for Sustainable and Equitable Food Policies
Use your new skills from the Intro to City Government training to explore case studies of how the policy process plays out and how to develop a strategy.  We will focus on zoning and operating standards for urban agriculture, “Environmentally Friendly Purchasing Protocols” for City of Oakland, “Fresh Food Financing Initiative,” and expansion of mobile vending.
